Alexander String Quartet reunites with pianist Joyce Yang at Mondavi Center / davis enterprise

The Alexander String Quartet and pianist Joyce Yang, who have performed together at the Mondavi Center on a number of occasions, will reunite at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, for a concert in Jackson Hall. On the program will be two classics - the Mozart Quartet No. 2 for Piano and Strings in E-flat Major, K. 493, and the Brahms Quintet for Piano and Strings in F Minor, Op. 34. Completing the program will be a brand-new piece, "Quintet with Pillars," by 33-year-old composer Samuel Adams, a Bay Area native whose music has been performed in the past at Mondavi by the San Francisco Symphony.
