Anne-Sophie Mutter Plays Tchaikovsky on VPR Classical - BSO broadcast

Ahead of the Krzysztof Penderecki's 85th birthday in the fall of 2018, Deutsche Grammophon released a double album of works for the violin by the composer in celebration of his longtime collaboration with violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter. Performed by Mutter, the double album features a number of the composer's works for violin and piano or violin and orchestra, including La Follia, Duo concertante, Sonata No. 2 (dedicated to Mutter and a world premiere recording), and Metamorphosen. 

On this Sunday's edition of VPR Classical - Boston Symphony Orchestra, Mutter plays with the BSO, led by Andris Nelsons.

Shostakovich: Festive Overture, Op. 96
Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto in D, Op. 35
Takemitsu: Nostalgia
Shostakovich: Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Op. 54
