Daigo Hanada

Daigo Hanada spent his youth as a basketball player, but after an injury halted his athletic career, he struggled to find his new path in life.

It was then when he discovered the “post classical” genre and artists like Olafur Arnalds, Keaton Henson, and Nils Frahm that he turned to the piano as a medium to voice his inner solace.

Inspired by these artists, Daigo Hanada taught himself to play the piano at age 23 whilst not knowing how to read or write sheet music.

Since then, he was discovered by Moderna Records’ in 2016, and grew to be a critical and commercial phenomenon, reaching over 70M streams across tracks and charting in Japan’s most played pieces on Spotify in 2019.

As Daigo Hanada grew up in the bustling city of Tokyo, he has always sought peace and quiet far away from people and the city.

It has become his mission to reflect on those values and make them part of his musical journey—taking inspiration from his quiet childhood with his grandmother, who was a koto player. Daigo Hanada is also an increasingly sought after as a remix artist with credits including Illuminine, Matt Emery, John Hayes & Maxy Dutcher, Michael A. Muller, and Richard Luke.
