Inspired by the Immrama, a class of tales from Celtic Folklore about a hero's journey to the Otherworld, David Mallamud's Immram, was influenced by everyone from Thomas Moore – whose poem "As Slow Our Ship," was adapted for the introduction – to Planxty, Solas, Rant & Roar, The Chieftains, and even James Horner. Recorded in Zankel Hall in Saratoga Springs, itfeatures vocalists Cathie Ryan, Dan Webb (Rant & Roar), and Morgan James (Postmodern Jukebox), along withUilleann pipes master, Eric Rigler (Braveheart, Titanic), all accompanied by The Albany Symphony's Dogs of Desire, who's rock band power and chamber orchestra sophistication create a wild and wonderful recording. Immram was produced by Kim Scharnberg, and Grammy winners Joel Moss and David Alan Miller.
