David Mallamud's brain is a busy place, and on his debut album, The Wild & Whimsical Worlds of David Mallamud, the composer fuses genre and perspective in a uniquely dynamic way. Mallamud's fanciful tour of time and place tour goes from Parisian to Victorian, Glam Metal to salsa-drenched daytime telenovelas, through the swinging 60's to the Celtic lore of Ireland. Recorded in Zankel Hall in Saratoga Springs, the tracks feature many of today's greatest Broadway voices including: Sierra Boggess, Janet Dacal, Amick Byram, Morgan James, Constantine Maroulis, Christiane Noll, and Brian Charles Rooney, plus Irish singer Cathie Ryan and Dan Webb (Rant & Roar), in collaboration with the Albany Symphony's rock-chamber ensemble, Dogs of Desire, with David Alan Miller conducting.
