Soprano saxophonist Jane Ira Bloom and bassist Mark Helias come together to create duets discovered in the moment in a way that is rarely heard today with Some Kind of Tomorrow. The long time bandmates, separated by space and time find a way to play in real time with one another and the results are magical.

Kevin Johnson of No Treble writes.....The Covid-19 pandemic has been hard on music all around, but it has made things nearly impossible for musicians who improvise. Saxophonist Jane Ira Bloom and bassist Mark Helias had played together for years and suddenly could not create together. However, they had resolve to continue their craft. The result is a new album called Some Kind of Tomorrow. The beautiful collection of duets has such a fluid sound and feel that you quickly forget the technical backstory. Both players are so in tune with each other and sensitive listeners that nothing is lost in translation.
