BBC Proms 2017 - relaxed concerts will take place in venues outside of the Royal Albert Hall once again, including Tate Tanks and Wilton's Music Hall. Proms audiences will be able to walk around the Royal Albert Hall, make as much noise as they like and hang out in "chill-out areas" at the event's first ever relaxed concert. Jarvis Cocker, Nicola Benedetti and Sir Simon Rattle are among artists unveiled today as the 122-year-old music festival sets out to find  its "next audience".

Cocker will star in a tribute to cult crooner Scott Walker and Jools Holland will lead a celebration of the Stax/Volt label of performers such as Otis Redding and Booker T & the MG's. There is also a focus on music inspired by the Russian revolution and the Reformation. Other performances during the Proms, which run from July 14 to September 9, include Sir Simon conducting the London Symphony Orchestra, Daniel Barenboim conducting works by Sibelius and Elgar and celebrations of jazz greats Ella Fitzgerald and Dizzy Gillespie. Coverage will be fronted by Katie Derham and every prom will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 with regular shows on BBC2 and BBC4     PHOTO: Sim Canetty-Clarke
