The confluence of these two powerful improvised forms, with liberal doses of funk, blues and contemporary minimalism have been at the core of his musical language for the past thirty years. Brooks says: "Bringing together accomplished jazz musicians with master classical Indian artists is one of the great pleasures and successes of my work as a musician." He goes on to say; "In my compositions and in the studio I strive to create an environment that challenges and inspires, giving these talented musicians an opportunity to reach across continents and revel in the joy of speaking a common language" George Brooks Summit is George Brooks on saxophone, Fareed Haque on guitar, Kai Eckhardt on bass, & Steve Smith on drums & konnakol (vocal percussion). This brilliant recording also includes guest appearances by Zakir Hussain, Swapan Chaudhuri, Frank Martin, Niladri Kumar, Ronu Majumdar, Kala Ramnath, Hamsika Iyer, Sridhar Parthasarathy, & Celso Alberti.
