Contrabajo. Works For Bass And String Quartet is the title of the new album created by Pablo Aslan, a sort of self-portrait in music of the Argentinian double bass player. The album was recorded in Buenos Aires and New York and sees the musician accompanied by Cuarteto Petrus, formed by Pablo Saravi and Hernán Briático on the violin, Adrián Felizia on viola and Gloria Pankaeva on cello and sees as guests Paquito D'Rivera and Raúl Jaurena. The record features rearrangements of songs such as Heitor Villa-Lobos's Prelude No. 1 , Come Sunday by Duke Ellington, the classic La Cumparsita tango , and a series of original compositions.
