Philippe Sly, John Charles Britton - Schubert Sessions / KDFC 'Download Of the Week'

Each week KDFC: San Francisco - eNotes members can download a free mp3 from some of the biggest releases in the world of Classical music. The meeting between Philippe Sly and guitarist John Charles Britton (signing arrangements of the works of this album) is certainly not the result of chance. Collaborating for several years, both artists recognize these Schubert Sessions a way to expand and claim the place of the Viennese composer in popular culture, especially its influence on modern music. Therefore, this album reflects the need to revisit these lyrical masterpieces in a form that emphasizes not only their idiomatisme (several parts, including Wohin and Auf Dem Wasser zu singen , conceal a more guitar than piano writing) but also their polymorphic nature. The bet, simple in appearance, yet is bold: to present in its most natural form a collection of rooms including the expressiveness allows the basic principles of postage, or dérobation a certain apostolate - fictional or real - in the world of classical music.
