Next week's Chatter Sunday at the offers a preview of the idiosyncratic work of Danish composer Poul Ruders. The composer of the Santa Fe Opera's world premiere "The Thirteenth Child," Ruders also is the author of a vast array of chamber and orchestral music. "The Thirteenth Child" opens July 27. The Chatter lineup at the Las Puertas Event Center includes American soprano Grace Kahl, guitarist Daniel Ward and the San Francisco-based Del Sol String Quartet. The quartet returns to Chatter annually for a program of music by contemporary composers appearing at the Santa Fe Opera.

The musicians will perform Ruders' String Quartet No. 4 written in 2012, as well as selections from the composer's "Three for Two," "Schròdinger's Cat" for violin and guitar and "Bel Canto" for solo violin. The group will perform "O Mother" from the final act of "The Thirteenth Child."
