I Bet You Weren't Expecting This

The reason I chose to record this fantastic song, I Bet You Weren’t Expecting This, is because it’s a
wonderful Bossa Nova style song which has a great rhythm for dancing. My wife and I love to dance, 
and I believe many of my fans do, too – I so hope they enjoy this song and will dance to it often!

Then Came You

 With its meteoric success on streaming platforms and social media outlets, My Lucky Stars has made Paul Hughes, the singer to watch this summer!  Monday 24 July 2023, sees Paul’s release of his second single, Then Came You, written by Kathie Lee Gifford and Brett James.

When asked why he chose to record this song, Paul answered simply: “I recorded Then Came You because it’s such a beautiful love song/ballad about someone, either male or female, who has been unlucky in love…then suddenly that special person comes into their life when they least expect it! Knowing that I’m not the only person that this has happened to, I felt certain this recording would resonate with my audience. I do so hope they enjoy this truly beautiful love song!”

My Lucky Stars

Singer Paul Hughes is in the midst of recording a new album of songs co-written by Nashville’s Hall of Fame recipient, Byron Hill and Roger Brown. Hill has written songs for such greats as Ray Charles and Kenny Rogers, and also penned George Strait’s first number one hit, Fool Hearted Memory. Brown, has a long list of recordings by artists as diverse as Barbra Streisand, Tammy Wynette, Willie Nelson, and several others. Produced by Sal Oliveri, who recently co-produced PINK’S “Hurts 2B Human” album, the tracks are being recorded at legendary Capitol Records Studio in Los Angeles where the likes of Frank Sinatra and so many other greats made hit songs. Paul Hughes would now like to share 3 of these songs with you. ‘My Lucky Stars,’ Then Came You’ and ‘I Bet You Weren't Expecting This.’ Born in Manchester England, Paul Hughes is an exceptional talent who exudes style and poise.
