Swing That Music / A Tribute To Louis Armstrong

Celebrate the life and music of American jazz legend Louis Armstrong. Seventeen outstanding arrangements featuring Louis Armstrong's best-loved songs and most recognizable hits including Ain't Misbehavin', Sweet Georgia Brown, St. Louis Blues, Carolina Shout, Black Bottom Stomp, Struttin' With Some Barbecue, Black and Blue and Way Down Yonder in New Orleans.

The title track, Swing That Music is a song that Louis Armstrong composed and later, it became the title of his autobiography.

Christmas Time is Here! The Canadian Brass brings us beloved music from Vince Guaraldi, Charlie Brown, The Grinch, Rudolph, Frosty and more! Perhaps if the Grinch had just gotten a little taste of what a Canadian Brass Christmas is like, he would have been celebrating with the best of them! On October 29th, the Canadian Brass' forthcoming holiday album Christmas Time Is Here - released on the Steinway & Sons Record label will be available to melt all the icy hearts in the land.

Legends

Opening Day Entertainment Group presents the Canadian Brass: Legends, a unique album of all new recordings from the world's most famous brass group. Featuring popular pieces for quintet, double quintet and full brass ensemble, including works by Monteverdi, Handel, Gabrieli, Barber, Copland, Mozart, Lennon/McCartney, the album is conducted by Robert Moody, and these Brass arrangements were created by some of the best in the business including Arthur Frackenpohl, Michael Allen, Richard Price, Stephen McNeff, Fen Watkin and Christopher Dedrick. The disc also includes the newly commissioned Golyardes' Grounde by Malcolm Forsyth, who has won a Juno Award for composition and was named Canadian Composer of the Year in 1989, among other honors.

Canadian Brass: Takes Flight features members of the world's most famous brass ensemble in their premiere release on the Steinway & Sons record label. Canadian Brass are now exclusive Conn-Selmer artists and perform on 24-karat gold-plated Bach and Conn instruments. The group has performed in virtually every major concert hall in the world, has more than 200 published arrangements, and has sold well over 2 million albums worldwide. They've had a plethora of educational initiatives over the years including work with El Sistema in Venezuela. Canadian Brass has shaped the recent and emerging history of brass performance and, as shown by its new members, has a keen eye on the next generation of professional players.
