Claude Debussy, w/Staatskapelle Berlin

In 1949, two young Argentinian child prodigies met and made music together for the first time, the rest, as they say, is history. In continuation of Martha Argerich’s birthday celebrations, we announce a new album from Daniel Barenboim and Martha Argerich, performing selected works by Claude Debussy.

Daniel Barenboim also brings back two of his closest collaborators, Michael Barenboim for the Violin Sonata in G minor and rising star Kian Soltani for the Cello Sonata in D minor - two young musicians he knows very well from their critically-acclaimed recordings and concerts in recent years at Pierre Boulez Saal, Berlin. All recordings were made in 2018, to mark the 100th anniversary of the great French composer’s death.

The album is set to be released on 4 June 2021.

mozart / schubert / stravinsky piano duos

Reuniting after more than 15 years, renowned conductor/pianist Daniel Barenboim and pianist Martha Argerich come together on the new recording Piano Duos, on Deutsche Grammophon. Released on Barenboim's new digital label, Peral Music, the album has hit #1 on the iTunes Pop Charts in Argentina and #1 on iTunes Classical Chart in Argentina, Brazil, Switzerland, and Italy. Barenboim and Argerich have a long-standing friendship that dates back to when they were children growing up in Buenos Aires and performing at the home of Ernesto Rosenthal, which was the local haven for chamber music nights. Soon they went their separate ways and focused on their careers which included reuniting in the 1980s while Barenboim was music director of the Orchestre de Paris. Now, the duo pairs up again for this live recording which took place at Berlin's Philharmonie this past April.  A magical moment in the history of classical music, Piano Duos captures the highly anticipated and well-received reunion, with the music of Mozart, Schubert and Stravinsky.

Live from Buenos Aires

On October 9, 2015, PERAL MUSIC digitally released a live recording of another of the legendary concerts that Daniel Barenboim and Martha Argerich have given in the Teatro Colón – in this case in the summer of 2015. This recording now comes to CD on Deutsche Grammophon. The program was recorded in July during the second "Festival de Música y Reflexión" that Daniel Barenboim established in 2014 in his native Argentina.
