Hailed by American Record Guide as an "exceptional artist," Alexander Beridze won international acclaim as the Gold Medalist of the 2009 World Piano Competition. He made his New York recital debut at Alice Tully Hall in 2010 where critics called his performance "brilliant, superb and simply electrifying." He performed the works on the new disc at a sold-out November 2014 recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall where his interpretation of the Beethoven Sonata was critically hailed as "perfect" with "beautiful articulation and melting legato touch." His phrasing of the Brahms Rhapsodies was described as "utterly natural" and his performance of the Schumann as "electric." Beridze's debut solo recording on the NY Classics label features Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 28 in A Major, Op. 101, Brahms' Two Rhapsodies, Op. 79 and Schumann's Kreisleriana, Op. 16.
