Vanessa Benelli Mosell:

Light

Vanessa Benelli Mosell has the power to let people appreciate my music" – Karlheinz Stockhausen

Light is the ideal follow up to Vanessa Benelli Mosell's debut album on Decca, [R]evolution, which was released in July 2015.  This new album includes music by Alexander Scriabin as well as by Mosell's mentor, Stockhausen, thus bringing together two composers considered visionaries in their respective times.  Light will be released on June 3, 2016. Alexander Scriabin began his career as a virtuoso pianist, performing his own works to great acclaim in St. Petersburg, Moscow and beyond. The music of Chopin was a formative influence, and Scriabin's early works are predominantly in genres that Chopin pioneered: prelude, etude, polonaise, impromptu, mazurka. But Scriabin was also a product of Russian musical traditions, and his Chopin-inspired piano textures often support melodies with a distinctively Russian flavor.
