Liszt: Harmonies Poetiques Et Religieuses

For his debut on Decca, Italian pianist Roberto Plano has chosen a masterwork that is rarely performed, and that has not appeared in Universal's catalog for the last 50 years. This is the first complete recording of Harmonies poétiques and religieuses since France Clidat in the sixties. The album will be released on July 29, 2016. First Prize Winner of the 2001 Cleveland International Piano Competition, Finalist at the Twelfth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2005, Laureate in the 2003 Honens International Piano Competition (Calgary, Canada) and in the 2006 Axa Dublin International Piano Competition, Italian pianist Roberto Plano has performed several times throughout North America. With his solid technique, Roberto Plano has often been defined a virtuoso, but he brings more than simply technical ability to his performances, and in fact it's not virtuosity that is underlined in his performances of Liszt's music, who remains one of his favorite composers. He has chosen for his Decca debut recital to perform Liszt's formidable and taxing, ten movement Harmonies poétiques and religieuses.
