The Vienna Boys Choir-one of the world's best known musical institutions-celebrates the holidays with a major Christmas album released on Deutsche Grammophon today. This album of holiday favorites features two stars of classical music: Rolando Villazón and Aida Garifullina and is the beginning of a long and close collaboration with Universal.

The two-time Grammy® award winning Vienna Boys Choir is the oldest boys' choir in the world, tracing its roots back to 1498. Each year they perform over 300 concerts to an audience half a million listeners around the world. Though this is their first album with Universal, they have recorded 150 CDs, the first of which was made in 1907. This cultural institution is recognized for the purity of their sound and the joy of their music making.

Merry Christmas from Viennafeatures traditional repertoire including O Holy Night, featuring DG recording artist Rolando Villazon, Stille Nacht, featuring the Russian soprano Aida Garifullina, and other holiday favorites including Il Est Né Le Divin Enfant, Carol of the Bells, Joy to the World, Feliz Navidad and more. They also take on the melancholy war protest song Happy  Christmas (War is Over) by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

The renowned Austrian Brass ensemble phil Blech Wien teams up with the young vocal artists for two American Christmas classics Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer and Let It Snow.
