Zuill Bailey joins the Fairbanks Symphony in annual 'Sitka Winter Classics' recital / Fairbanks Daily News-Miner

The Fairbanks Symphony will host the annual Sitka Winter Classics recital tonight - January 7 in Davis Concert Hall. Zuill Bailey, cellist and 2016 Grammy winner, will join FSO Music Director Eduard Zilberkant in a performance of Beethoven sonatas for piano and cello. Bailey won his Grammy for Best Solo Performance for his Live Recording of "Tales of Hemingway" by composer Michael Daugherty. Bailey is widely considered one of the premiere cellists in the world today. He performs throughout the world and is director of the Center for Arts Entrepreneurship at the University of Texas at El Paso. He is also the director of the Sitka Summer Music Festival and has been a frequent visiting soloist to Fairbanks in the past 10 years.
